The HEALING Journey

You deserve to be HAPPY - it is your birthright

I have been on a healing journey...

This Sunday, I went to California for work and scheduled an extra day for "me time". I came in a day early. I planned a day to meet up with my massage therapist, energy worker and friend; Brook.

You see, I used to live in Southern California 3 years ago. Upon my arrival in 2017, I went to Hand and Stone Massage Therapy to redeem my massage credits. It was something that I treated myself to when I was working LONG days "baking hopes and dreams". When I lived in Michigan and ran my cookie company, yumbitz, I decided to join the club and once a month get a massage. The days were long and time was not on my side. Although I had the best of intentions to schedule some "me time", I always felt guilty. If I had freetime, I would mange to fill up the space with something to promote the cookie company. 7 months worth of massage credits were in my account when we relocated. I was so happy to know that I could transfer them to the Laguna Beach location. It was the closest to Aliso Viejo, were I was now living.

When I walked in the door to check in for my appointment, the manager greeted me with a BIG smile and said, "WELCOME HOME, old soul". I have to admit I was intrigued by the comment. I had never met this woman before, nor had I ever lived in Laguna Beach. She said my SOUL had returned home. It certainly felt like HOME.

Back story...In 2012, I had visited Main Beach for the very first time. I had NEVER been to California before, nor to the ocean. However, as I walked the beach it felt familiar. As if I HAD been there before (maybe in another Lifetime), when something overtook me and I found myself face down, weeping in the sand.

On this particular day when I went in for my appointment, I was scheduled to work with Debbie, however, the manager insisted that I meet Brook after.

We did and have been on this healing journey together ever since. This year marks 8 years.

After the session from this past Sunday, Brook said I was glowing and snapped a picture to capture the moment. (I'm not sure why it is uploading on a tilt, but I guess it is that way for a reason.)

Life, is full of ups and downs. We all have trauma stored in our bodies. Experiences that were too difficult to process at the time, so we stored them as emotions in our fascia. Working with a massage therapist will help you release those trapped memories/ energy so you can heal. It is truly facinating. Read more about it by searching up Myofacial release.

You are worthy and deserving of ALL this life has to offer, and it begins by choosing to heal.

I went to Trader Joe's right after and bought myself flowers to celebrate. These beautiful orchids have been accompying me in the hotel room and on car rides throught my stay. I plan to pass them along to a stranger before I leave and share my story. Aren't they beautiful? I just love them.

P.s. "you are beaUtiful"
