Keys to the Kingdom

There is Power in TITHING

Tithing. "In God We Trust" it is written on every bill. But do we? Do we truly Trust in God when it comes to our finances? Tithing is such a taboo act of worship. So many people turn away when they are asked to tithe. We prefer to be selective with the acts of worship we enjoy - through attendance at church with good music and coffee. Immediate judgment toward the church, ministry or who ever the ask is from. Often insiting a plethra of reasons why they cannot or refuse to follow this act of worship. Like the church needs anymore money. Especially mine. I need it to pay off my bills or to buy the things I want. Afterall, I am the one who worked so hard to get it. But there is POWER IN TITHING.

Kingdom math is different than ours. With God our act of worship through tithing 10 percent reeps way more rewards than anything we could do on our own.

As I am sitting here I am reminded of when Jesus feed the 5,000. The disciples were concerned because it was getting late and thought it would be best for Jesus to send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food. Jesus replied,"They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." "We have here only 5 loaves of bread and two fish," they answered.

"Bring them here to me," he said and he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people."

Think about this. He told the disciples to bring the bread to him. And through their obedience, he blessed the bread and multiplied it. He looked to heaven, gave thanks and broke the bread.

He then gave them to the disciples. He allowed the disciples the opportunity to witness the miracle and take part in it too. How "awe"some is he. Jesus saw the needs of the people and made a way where the disciples could not see one. The power was activated through obedience.

He told the people to "sit down".

The account later goes on to say, "they all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up 12 baskets full of broken pieces that were left over." Leftovers even?!! and the people ate till they were satisfied? He saw their need, met their needs and allowed them to eat to their full!!

You know me and numbers... I had to look up the significance of the 12 baskets it says represents the fullness of God, ORDER and INCREASE- representing the 12 tribes showing that his miracle was to bless us ALL.

Through our acts of obedience, thanksgiving and surrender to the Lord, He will bless our needs and give us more than enough.

I have been trying to do it all on my own. Exhausting all my efforts. I work hard, try to pay off the bills, but they continue to mount up. Last year, mid way I decided to start tithing and I saw God's hand work in a mighty way. It has been a constant struggle for me since July of 2024 financially. I was blessed with a sales contract in August of 2025, however, it was only for a few months and the contract was up December 31, 2025. I have been looking for more work... with no success.

I have been asking God why this is happening? What lesson am I to learn?

I have been hearing that I need to learn to be a good steward of all that "I" provide to you.

I am starting to see that it was God who gave me everything. He is the one who gave me the gifts and talents I have. It is he who provided the favor and blessings.

Today when they asked for the offering at church I took 10% from my last pay check and tithed When I reached into my wallet to take out the money, I cried. I realized that I was trusting God. I have NO idea where my next dollar is coming from but I know who the source is and that it never exhausts. I cried tears of joy because I know I will see Him working through me.
